INTERMEDIATE WORKSHOP
Designed for those with some woodworking experience. The intermediate workshop will go through the fundamentals and details of the varieties of tonewoods used for guitars, why they are used, and the best way to care for them. With the BYG Model “Peech” BD2048 (Dreadnought similar to the Martin D-28) or the BYG “Kuwi” BDC2048 (Dreadnought Cutaway similar to the Martin D-28) the intermediate builder is able to select, shape, and fashion some of the 16 main components. Some power tools like routers, band saws, and mitre saws are used, as well as hand tools such as chisels, hand planners, and sanding with various mediums will be required.
The intermediate workshop is a great way to enhance your existing woodworking knowledge and gain a greater understanding of Luthier artistry. With the ability to shape and hone the braces and soundboard, you are truly creating a unique one-of-a-kind sound experience. As always, building your confidence in producing a functional work of art that you will be proud to say “I made this”.

The Intermediate Workshop is broken down into 16 Sessions for a total of 75hrs to be used over a 10-week period, giving you the freedom to move at your own pace. Individual build sessions may range anywhere up to 5hrs depending on the stage you’re at.
